GOOD PUPPY SOCIALIZATION - PUPPY KINDERGARTEN

For puppies 10 weeks to 5 months ONLY. Setting the standards for a lifetime of learning through the utilization of positive reinforcement and social skills. Basic canine learning and behavior theory, puppy behaviors, the power of positive play and responsible pet ownership. On-going socialization and the proper use of various training equipment.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN

AKC certified program working toward solid obedience skills in a variety of settings. Includes AKC Exam and Certification. Requires Prior attendance in Good Manners I or Obedience Level I. Pre-requisite for those desiring to conduct therapy work with their pets.

PAWS FOR LOVE THERAPY DOGS

Teaches the etiquette and procedures for conducting therapy visits to medical and long term care facilities. Consists of 4 classes and requires Canine Good Citizen Certification. Teams completing this course are eligible to take part in the working therapy dog team of the Humane Society.

GOOD MANNERS

Offers basic handling skills and canine learning theory along with positive reinforcement for the application of basic obedience skills for life. Focuses on loose-leash walking, heel, attention skills, sit, stay, down and come. Strict attention is paid to prevention of unwanted behaviors.

OBEDIENCE LEVEL I

Strong emphasis is placed on practicing advanced obedience skills using a balanced approach of positive/negative reinforcement. Focuses on formal heel, advanced leash work and off leash training. In-depth look at various canine behaviors such as dominance, resource guarding and aggression.

Group classes are limited to a maximum of 5 dogs and handlers.
